'Green 61' by Cody Fowler Davis is riveting

Author Cody Fowler Davis is a lawyer, and he writes “Green 61,” a legal thriller, with an insider’s knowledge of the skill and skullduggery of the legal profession. In the novel, he pits Anderson Parker, an honest lawyer with a struggling new practice, against Justin Cartwright II, his old boss. Cartwright represents the defendant company in a wrongful death lawsuit with skill, but without integrity.

Parker represents the plaintiffs.

The book asks the question, “What’s the cost of winning at all costs?” The story unfolds, and the tables are slowly, painfully turned on the greedy Cartwright.

This is a story of intrigue and suspense, a struggle between good and evil, the kind of book you read with anxiety and put down with a grin. Davis got the idea for the book while sitting on the porch of his Tampa home with his wife and looking out over the Intracoastal Waterway and marker Green 61. It involves a collision of a Pacer Marine test boat piloted by Cory Hendricks through the Intracoastal Waterway and a fishing boat and a kayak with three people aboard, two of whom were children.

The unscrupulous Cartwright believes in winning at all costs, and the truth of the accident is almost covered up by his paid expert and his persuading Cory to be less than forthcoming.

This is the kind of book you will read into the wee hours as you wonder if lawyer Parker can bring the truth to light.

This book you have written is not good.............it is GREAT!

I am an avid reader and an English major and very picky about what I read and how it's written. You did an outstanding job. It is hard for me to believe that this was your first publishing endeavor. You captured my attention from the beginning and made me either love or hate some of the characters, which is indicative of how well you portrayed the villain and the hero. I didn't want to put it down because I knew the next page would contain further intrigue to an already suspense-filled novel and you didn't fall into the all too common pitfall of relying on sex and violence---how refreshing.

I intend to tell everyone I know about Cody Fowler Davis, this exciting new author and urge them to run to the nearest bookstore once it hits the shelves and to pass the word.

Congratulations Cody on a job very well done.
